The software will be automatically installed (it should take around 5
minutes).
Step Three
Now that
Spyware
Doctor is installed, you can use it to search and remove
any spyware installed in you computer. (This is the
fun part!) To do this,
choose
Run Spyware Doctor from the menu (alternatively, you can
double-click the icon in the lower right side of your
Desktop’s toolbar, near the clock).
Now clic on "Start Scan"
You may want to start with the "
Intelli-Scan"
option, which is faster. Then, tonight before going to bed,
you can run the "Full-Scan", which will run while you sleep.
Once you’ve selected the type of scan you want to run,
click on “Scan
Now”.
And now you’ll see how many spyware programs have attached
themselves to your computer. Don’t be surprised if
there are a lot of them — in some computers I’ve
found more then 300! The software actually
exaggerates a bit
with what it classifies as spyware. For example, it considers
Cookies to
be spyware, even though they are not malicious programs (indeed,
SpyDoctor itself classifies cookies as just a
“low”
level of infection). The only infections you need to worry
about are those designated with a level higher than
“low.”
After scanning and locating all of the spyware,
remove the infections by clicking
“Fix Checked”. (I advise you
not to activate the checkbox “Create Restore Point”
as, in my opinion, it’s a useless option).
Once you are done,
clic
on "Finish".
Hope this has been of some help!
